Movie Review: Bullet to the Head

By | February 2, 2013

Pretty mediocre. This movie doesn’t have much going for it. The concept of an assassin teaming up with a cop is ruined by the fact that the duo just never clicks. Sung Kang does an OK job, but his character has no real motivation and really contributes nothing to the team. Stallone, as always, has the best one-liners, but his character gets too few action scenes. The plot has a bizarre turn near the end, with everybody just making irrational decisions. Jason Mamoa’s role as the rival assassin is all over the place. They start to push him in a direction where you’re supposed to root for him, and then just portray him as evil. Sarah Shahi is barely recognizable, and barely dressed, as a tough tattoo artist who assists the leads while contributing with a tacked on love story. Heath Slater is pretty much wasted, appearing in only a handful of scenes.
