Movie News Round-up: Sept. 6, 2014
It’s historically the deadest weekend of the year at movie theaters, so once again, no new movies to review. Let’s go with some movie news instead.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will play the villain Black Adam in New Line’s Captain Marvel movie, which will probably end up getting called Shazam. No release date is set.
The new Terminator film, Terminator: Genisys, will be released July 1, 2015. Sequels have just been announced to be released on May 19, 2017 and June 29, 2018.
Like X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse will film in Montreal. Cameras are set to roll in April of 2015. It’s scheduled to be released in theaters May 27, 2017.
In small screen news: A Supergirl television series is being shopped around, Matthew Nable has been cast as Ra’s al Ghul for the upcoming third season of “Arrow,” AMC has ordered a pilot episode for a “The Walking Dead” spin-off series and season five of “Game of Thrones” will apparently not feature any appearances by Bran Stark, Hodor or their group beyond The Wall.
