Movie Review: Bad Boys: Ride or Die

A mildly entertaining but forgettable chapter to a franchise that has lost all its relevance a long time ago. The basic plot was decent enough, and Will Smith and Martin Lawrence still have good chemistry, but there was very little to make any of it stand out. There are a few solid action sequences, and some of the jokes are funny, but there’s not much here that’s memorable. The directors use some stylistic shots that look kind of cool but also feel a little out of place. (Some shots look like something that would look awesome in animation but look a little silly here.) Lawrence’s Marcus has an odd character arc that doesn’t quite payoff considering what it implies, while Smith’s Mike Lawrey has an arc that goes absolutely nowhere.
