Despite a fantastic acting job by Denzel Washington and brutal action sequences, the mediocre plot and slow pacing make this movie fairly forgettable. Denzel puts on a strong performance. Whether he’s being charming or a stone-faced killer, he’s totally believable. Unfortunately, the rest of the film doesn’t deliver. The plot is predictable, and it’s easy to immediately guess who the bad guy is. The pacing is bad, and is made up of boring moments, occasionally intercut with character development/backstory and all-too-brief action sequences. Even the finale was anticlimactic, thanks to a lack of tension and the action coming and going too quickly.
