A fun and action-packed film that uses plenty of pizazz to hide a mediocre plot. The plot here is very thin, and the gist of it, plus all the main character’s motivations, are basically revealed in just a few lines of dialogs from the film’s trailers. Fortunately, things are jazzed up by colorful characters and some strong (and brutal) action sequences. Margot Robbie once again shines as Harley Quinn, and not only is she even more badass than before, they do a good job of trying to flesh-out her character a bit. However, while most of the performances are fine, the rest of the cast is too poorly written. Both Ewan McGregor’s Black Mask and Chris Messina’s Victor Zsasz are a little too quirky, and it keeps them from being as menacing as they’re meant to be. Meanwhile, the rest of the main cast have either too little backstory (like Black Canary), or they’re just bland (like The Huntress.) If you want to stick around, there is something after the credits, but it’s probably not worth the wait.
